What to Expect
In the cloud forest of Monteverde, we will spend five days immersed in storytelling, Creative Speech, and the living landscape around us.
Using the Four Pillars of Creative Speech™ (Imagination, Movement, Sound, and Breath), we will explore how a story comes to life through its speaker and how our own inner capacities shape the way we meet our listeners.
The cloud forest itself will become part of our study. We will listen to the movement of water and wind, live into the gestures and rhythms of the landscape, observe color, form, and atmosphere, and experience silence. We will bring these into our work with language and story.

Rooted in the anthroposophical and pedagogical foundations of Creative Speech, our work will move between artistic practice and a central question:
How does our speech meet the human being before us?
We will work with the imagination of story, the movement within language, the life of sounds, and the stream of breath that carries the word from speaker to listener.
This is more than a storytelling workshop. It is a sojourn for the soul: a time to deepen your artistic practice, renew your relationship with your own voice, and experience storytelling in conversation with one of the world's extraordinary ecosystems.
We are all storytellers. This retreat is for all who seek to deepen their connection and kinship to nature, their inner self, and the spoken word.
LocationSamanea Sanctuary
Our harbor on this journey will be Samanea Sanctuary in Monteverde, Costa Rica. Forty acres of cloud forest, river, trails, waterfalls, and quiet will connect us to and inspire our work with the very elemental spirits and sounds Rudolf Steiner spoke of as woven through earth, water, air, and warmth, vibrantly alive in this setting. Our days will include time for artistic work, exploration of the forest, reflection, shared meals, and rest.

Payment Options
Pay in full, or pay a 50% non-refundable deposit by October 25, 2026. If you choose the deposit option, the remaining balance will be paid in monthly installments on the 14th of every month.
